Single Leg Take Down Hind Leg

There are a few ways to execute a single leg take down. It is a lot quicker then a double leg takedown, and a lot easier in my personal opinion. Here's what you want to do. When you and your opponent are in a standing grappling position, and your opponent has their hand on your shoulder or behind the neck, you are going to pop their hand up simply lifting their hand quickly.

Now you have their hand lifted, you are going to dive in from a standing position to almost a lunge position, with your front leg inches diagonally from their hind leg. Your hands are forward reaching in for their hind leg right behind their knee.

From this position you are going to quickly grab their leg from behind the knee, and stand up while holding their leg. Now from this position there are a number of ways to takedown your opponent:

1 . Body Twist: This is where you turn your elbow into your opponent's inner thigh, while turning your body into the same direction. Your opponent is sure to hit the ground after losing balance.

2 . Leg Sweep: This is simple as you have their leg in your hands, simply walk with the opponent and sweep the leg while thrusting your body forward, causing them to fall on their back with you on top of them.
