The leg wheel is a move that originated in Judo. However, it has been adopted and perfected in the MMA world, due to it's simplicity and advantageous position that the executer is at once the move is executed successfully. You and your opponent are in a standing guard position, your hands are at each other's forearms, and your feet are shoulder width apart. You are going to step forward with your hind leg forcing the opponent to step back.

Now this is the point where it can be tricky. After you step forward, your opponent's natural reaction as a competitor is to mimic your motion, by stepping forward to throw you off balance. However, you are already knowledgeable to the opponents counter step - so what you do is use your opponent's momentum to step back. However, you step across your opponents bod'y with your hind leg, so your left leg is across diagonally. In doing so, your heel is meeting the opponents ankle.

All you have to do now is pull the opponent forward, using his or her own momentum, and they will trip over your leg. So, your opponent is now on the ground. Make sure you still have their hand to direct their fall.
