Mixed Martial Arts Weapon Fighting
Most weapons in martial arts were created in ancient Japanese times, from farmers that had to protect themselves and their families from Samurai, that would come in and attack their villages. These weapons in the early stages were made out of their yard tools, sometimes sharpened or chained together (like Nunchaku). The Samurai used swords in the Martial Arts world, and at first the art of Kung Fu was not taught to the civilians, leaving the farmers and their families defenseless if there was ever an attack. Some Martial Arts styles teach scenarios of how to defend yourself when someone attacks you with a weapon. In some self-defense lessons and most martial arts, Masters will teach their students what do when somebody attacks you on the street. Most likely the scenario is with a knife or a gun. These self-defense techniques are not continuous fights - they are usually one or two maneuvers that accomplish a quick disengage of the weapon, so it is either in the victim's hands or on the ground. Martial Arts such as Kung Fu and Ninjutsu teaches its students how to fight with a variety of weapons. Mainly practicing with the Staff and wooden Swords, because it's fast paced fighting protects each Martial Artists safety.
